Welcome to term 4!

Hi guys and welcome to term 4. I know that a lot of you have been relaxing every day... but I'm sure you were speaking English a lot. Right? No? Okay, then we have some serious work to do.

Things you will need this term:

• A copy of the CSWE 2 workbook (no CD) available at the bookshop for around $17.
• A USB memory stick to store your computer work on. This is VERY important. They cost around $8 or more, depending how much memory they have. 
• At least two different coloured pens. Having different coloured pens helps a lot when you are learning a new language because it helps your brain to categorise pieces of information separately. It helps for activities involving underlining, circling and when you write down a question, you can write the response in another colour making it clearer. 
•  A file! Very important. I want you to have a file with different sections for the work you do with different teachers. This will make you more organised and able to find worksheets from previous lessons more easily. 
• An exercise book (a notebook).

Okay so on a piece of paper now, please write a list of the things you will need to get for class and show your teacher!

I know that English is a difficult language to learn. It is also very difficult if you have a family or job and are trying to start a new life in a new country. I do understand this and want to help you as much as I can. If you have any problems related to school please talk to me or your other teachers about them. I want our class to communicate well and for students to feel comfortable to approach me if they have any worries about their class or work.

Also, please let the school know if you are going to be away for an appointment. This helps us a lot.
